Preeti Parikh is an Indian American poet and essayist with publications in AAWW’s The Margins, Beloit Poetry Journal, The Cincinnati Review, Hayden’s Ferry ReviewNonwhite and WomanZócalo Public Square, and other literary journals and anthologies. She has a past educational background in medicine and recently graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree from The Rainier Writing Workshop.

A Kundiman Fellow, Preeti is the recipient of a 2024 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award and a 2023 Sustainable Arts Foundation grant award. Other honors include a Millay Arts residency, staff scholarships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Linda Bierds and Carol Houck Smith graduate scholarship, and an AWP Writer to Writer Program mentorship. Preeti is presently working on the manuscript of her first book-length poetry collection. Born and raised in India, she now lives with her family in a multigenerational home in Ohio. Besides working as a freelancer, she continues to explore her interests in indigo dyeing, textile arts, and image-text work.
